MORE ABOUT OBAMA

The American president election of the United States of America changed the political history in two: before and after Barack Obama. The gigantic expectation that he has generated is directly proportional to the enormous challenges he must face to overcoming the financial crisis at national and international level. Independently of his administration ‘results, I am happy for his election fundamentally for two reason: it made me believe in the democracy, and it served me as an irrefutable prove of my old theory that in this modern world does not exist racism anymore, but the problem is about social classes differences. For more information, read “racial problem vs. social class differences” (May 28, 2008) wwwbloggercom-ocastillo.blogspot.com

I had not exerted my right to vote before, because had never believed in the people’s power through of “the suffrage” because in the popular vote have always reflected the expression of the dominant class with few exceptions in some African and South American countries where blacks and Indians presidents have been elected by blacks and Indians electors. Nonetheless, what happened in the United States broke up the logical sequence of the history given that the American people voted for the best candidate to lead the country without taking in consideration politic, social, racial or religious issues. I, particularly, was dragged by the people enthusiasm and ended up participating actively in this historic democratic festivity.

With respect to the issues related to social class difference is important to mention that the Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the John McCain‘s campaign and the mass media tried to portrait Obama as a black person who was representing the black community, but he demonstrated in one way or another to be representing the American population’s will. He acted with intelligence, elegance and style according to the social environment in which he grew, developed and established social relationships. In other words, we are talking about his highest educational level, his select intellectual circle of friends and the altruistic political group he belongs to. When Obama acted as politician in Illinois, professor at the Chicago’s university and guess speaker at the Democratic Convention, he was known because his intelligence, honesty, seriousness and work capacity to serve the humanity, not because of the color of his skin. Now that Obama is forming his cabinet, my old theory has been reconfirmed because he is selecting the brightest minds of United States to help him lead this country without considering political, social, racial or religious issues.

My articles in Spanish will be published on Sundays and in English on Wednesdays.

Taking in consideration the way as people are relating today, all seem to indicate that the racial problem is arriving to its final. However, there is a strong resistance for people who refuse to accept this reality
